Your Gift Helps Families Become Financially Stable
Consumer Credit Counseling program teaches people how to live within their income and rehabilitates people burden by debt.
With the global financial world on an increasingly dramatic rollercoaster ride, its impact on families and the individual worker is becoming equally dramatic. Families who find themselves having trouble financially can turn to Family Service Association's, (FSA) Consumer Credit Counseling, (CCC) program. The program provides financial advice, debt management, and educational programs.
Consumer Credit Counseling can:
- Restore self-reliance and family well-being to persons with money management and/or debt problems.
- Relieve employers of the bothersome and expensive participation in employee wage garnishments.
- Help business and financial institutions salvage delinquent accounts and rehabilitate customers.
- Help individuals prepare for home ownership and/or obtain and review their credit report.
- Promote financial literacy throughout the community through financial seminars and workshops.
FSA is affiliated with local, state, and federal groups where there is a place for advocacy on behalf of the consumers. The Consumer Credit Counseling Service is a member in good standing of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, a nationally recognized trade and consumer advocacy organization. It is not a charity organization, a lending institution, or a collection agency.
The Consumer Credit Counseling program is funded by United Way. Thanks to our donors' generosity 35% of clients seeking foreclosure assistance averted foreclosure and $260,000 was paid back to creditors in unsecured debt by residents.
